New HTC 10 flagship smartphone - sculpted to perfection

HTC is expected to unveil its latest flagship smartphone on Tuesday, April 12, but a new leak gives a better look yet at the device, camera-android">The Verge said. The new flagship comes with a slight change in name, with the company doing away with the usual "One" and "M" monikers. The HTC 10's front glass surface slightly curves to the edges of the device, just like those of the iPhone 6s.

The 10's front camera has also been upgraded to a 5-megapixel sensor with optically stabilized, f/1.8 wideangle lens (a first for front-facing cameras, according to HTC), that should make for better selfies in low light. The M7 came with 4 MO UltraPixel camera so this phone is the huge improvement over it. The camera supports Optical Image Stabilization and laser auto focus. HTC also says that the smartphone boasts the world's first 'stereo 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording capabilities, which is able to capture up to 256 times more detail than standard recordings. There are also reports suggesting that the device may come with 5.1 or 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Other than that, the phone also supports BoomSound Hi-Fi with Dolby Audio, along with dual speaker layout, and separate amplifiers for each.

The power of the latest and greatest Android Marshmallow 6.0 further complements the entire package.

A promotional video for the One M10 (or HTC 10) hit YouTube today, offering folks a sneak preview of the upcoming device.

The pricing and availability have yet to be announced but if past launches are anything to go by then it won't be long before it reaches our stores. The HTC 10's 88-point score for its camera was a tie with the Galaxy S7 Edge.

HTC 10 is expected to be widely available by May. The device can record slo-mo videos in HD resolution at 120fps and 4K videos with high resolution audio.

The unlocked HTC 10 is now up for pre-order via the HTC website for $699. Unfortunately, we don't know anything abo ut this mysterious phone, because its specs haven't been leaked. The front of the phone skips the usual HTC branding, which many fans have been hoping for, and there is a home button with a fingerprint scanner embedded inside.
