HTC's new Ocean could be a range of three phones

We all know that HTC has a tough road back to the top. But something else is also missing and this is big - the 3.5 mm audio jack is gone.

The headline-grabbing flagship offering among these will reportedly be the HTC Ocean Note, an oversized handset that will pair its headphone jack-bereft finish with an all new, curved design. Apple started that trend, and now Android manufacturers are doing away with the old port in favor of the Type-C USB.

The other two devices mentioned in the article are the HTC One X10, which is rumoured to feature MediaTek's Helio P10 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and the potential successor to the Desire 828. That said, they many introduce three variants which could mean three sizes.

The year 2016 hasn't been the best for Taiwanese tech giant HTC even though the company still launched quite a number of great devices in the shape of HTC 10 and the recent HTC Bolt or rather HTC 10 Evo.

Last but not least, HTC is also said to improve the camera dramatically, although color us skeptical given what we've seen in the past.

According to sources the company claims the title "highest ranking from DxOMark" which is now a title held by Google Pixel with 89. For reference, the HTC 10, Xperia X Performance and S7 Edge sit at 88 points while the iPhone 6S and BlackBerry Priv come in at around 82.

HTC is expected to unveil a trio of HTC Ocean devices during the firm's eagerly awaited "For U" event on January 12. CES 2017 should tell the tale as well, especially if the Ocean Note is absent.
