Ringing Bells to Launch India's Cheapest Smartphone at Rs 500 On Wednesday
The Freedom 251, touted as India's cheapest smartphone -and likely the most affordable smartphone in the world as well - will sport a price tag below Rs. 500 (approximately $7). The highlight of that smartphone was its 4G connectivity at the ultra-cheap cost of Rs 2999.
Times have changed, with new technology and more and more companies making smartphone prices gradually came down. "The final price announcement and the launch would be done by Shri Manohar Parrikkar, Hon'ble Union Minister, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, in the presence of Shri Murali Manohar Joshi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament", said a press release from the company.
It is also interesting to note that major Chinese smartphone makers such as Xiaomi, Lenovo and OnePlus have made their way to India by posing as providers of the cheapest smartphone alternatives.

That's right! The Noida-based company told that this launch was inspired by Narendra Modi's vision of "empowering India to the last person, transforming India's growth story".

The phone, called Freedom 251, is reportedly priced under Rs 500, or so a media invite by the firm claims. Last year, another Indian company DataWind announced its plans to launch the world's cheapest smartphone at Rs 999 ($14.6).
Ringing Bells is the new entrant in the mobile market, which was established previous year.
The Indian smartphone manufacturer said that it will reveal the exact retail price of the handset and other details like its specifications at the launch event.
Recently, Ringing Bells launched the Smart 101 smartphone with a 5 inch screen running Lollipop loaded with 1GB RAM and with 4G LTE support at Rs. 2,999.
