Motorola is today extending its smartphone lineup with the launch of the entirely new 'C' series. The Lenovo-owned company has announced two new entry-level handsets to start with – the Moto C and C Plus. These new 4G-enabled handsets are primarily targeted at emerging markets starting at about $100 and come with the bare essential hardware specifications.
Both new smartphones also come in a wide variety of chic colors including Metallic Cherry, Pearl White, Fine Gold and Starry Black. They'll be available from this spring in Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Neither of them will be arriving in the US. Despite the dirt cheap price, both the phones feature a rather attractive design with a micro-textured plastic back cover, a camera ring on the back and off-screen capacitive buttons.
In terms of internals, the Moto C features a 5-inch 854 x 480 (FWVGA) and a 32-bit quad-core MediaTek CPU at 1.3GHz (Moto C 3G) or 64-bit quad-core MediaTek CPU at 1.1GHz (Moto C 4G), 1GB of RAM, 2350mAh battery, and 8GB of onboard storage. There's a 5MP rear camera with flash and a front-facing 2MP lens with flash as well.
The Moto C Plus, on the other hand, is powered by 64-bit quad-core MediaTek CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and comes with a much larger 4000mAh battery, 5-inch 720p panel, an 8MP rear lens, a gig of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and Dual-SIM support. Both the devices are compatible with a MicroSD card and run on Android Nougat.
The 3G variant of the Moto C will cost you €89 (~6200 INR) and the 4G version is priced slightly higher at €99 (~7000 INR). The Moto C Plus starts at €119 (~INR 8300) with 1GB RAM/16GB. Both the phones are expected to launch around first week of June in India.
