Motorola launched the Moto Z smartphone with the moto mods last year. This was (then) the latest addition to the Moto series of devices. Motorola's Moto series has been doing really well, starting right from the affordable Moto E and Moto G to the mid-priced Moto M and Moto X, and the flagship series of Moto Z. We recently reported that Moto Z 2017 is in the works, and had been spotted in leaked images taken during the Sprint Gigabit LTE testing.

While we initially assumed it to be the Moto Z 2017, it was near-confirmed later. In their press release, Sprint gave away that this was an upcoming Motorola flagship featuring the Snapdragon 835 processor. Sprint said: "Motorola showcased the blazing-fast, high-bandwidth capability of a forthcoming flagship smartphone based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform with an integrated Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, supporting Gigabit Class LTE."
We now know that the phone does indeed run on the Snapdragon 835 processor. Motorola's gen-next flagship smartphone is the Moto Z 2017, and it looks like it is coming real soon. Motorola launched their first ever Moto Z smartphone last year in June. It looks like this time we might see an earlier release.
In their press release, Sprint further commented on the smartphone stating that it uses "three-channel carrier aggregation and 60 MHz of Sprint's 2.5 GHz spectrum in combination with 4X4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and 256-QAM higher order modulation to achieve incredible Category 16 LTE download data speeds on a TDD network."
The phone is expected to come out into the markets with a 5.5 inched QHD AMOLED display, along with 4 to 6GB of RAM and a storage space of 128 GB. The phone again banks on Moto Mods this year. While 'mods' seemed to be a good idea initially, they didn't work well for LG G5. However, Motorola took the same formula and made it a success!
