Let's hope the rumored N series can revive Nokia's glory days. It makes sense for HMD Nokia to go back to that well, and a redesigned and revamped lineup of N series device should sell like hotcakes. The third release would be a remastering of the Nokia N95, a mobile that marked the era of the technology used in its moment. To further strengthen this rumour, a leaked image showing the front panel of the smartphone was leaked online.
A Financial Express report notes that Nokia has been "working on a mid-range smartphone and it will be named after the famous Nokia N95". Experts point that it could take a 600 Snapdragon processor, and that all this already would have confirmed it HMD Global, the company in charge now managing the Nokia mobile division. HMD has set a target to reach 50 million units of this mid-range smartphone.
The last phone from N-series that the world saw was N950 back in 2011. N950 was never launched for the public and was unveiled as a developer only model.
With rumors pertaining to the revival of Nokia N-series, it can be expected that a smartphone similar to N950 may be launched by the company. While we don't expect to see a new version of the N72 or the Nokia N93, the new breed should line up nicely with the Nokia N1 slate.
A new trademark filing for Nokia NSeries has appeared at China's patent office and it looks HMD may launch some NSeries Android devices that this month.
Nokia is also expected to unveil the purported Nokia P1, an Android-powered smartphone at the MWC.
