As the CES 2017 hangover wears out, anticipation for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) begins where we will witness the launch of long-awaited flagship smartphones. LG has confirmed that it will unveil its flagship smartphone, the G6, at the MWC 2017. Heavy expectations lie on the South Korean giant, as the LG G6 is expected to do better than the G5, which failed miserably as a flagship smartphone. Latest reports now suggest that LG is in a rush to launch the G6 as it could be on March 10, just two weeks after its unveiling at the MWC. If the rumors are to be believed, then LG would outrun its competitor Samsung, which is slated to launch the Galaxy S8 one month later, around mid-April.

The rush in the early launch for the G6 could be a result for LG's steps in making sure everything goes right with its upcoming flagship smartphone. Being very careful with the G6, the company has recently confirmed that it will not include the G5's modular functionality which did not work out on the company's favor. The company will instead focus on the smartphone's design and use. LG recently unveiled the world's first QHD + LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 for smartphones, and which is assumed to debut on the G6. LG says that the display will be optimized for multitasking and dual-screen functions.

As for its specifications, the LG G6 smartphone could now feature a 5.7-inch QHD+ display with display resolution of 1440×2880. At the core of the smartphone, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor is expected to run. This makes the LG G6 to be one of the first smartphones to launch with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, along with the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 6. The smartphone could come with 6GB of RAM while its storage information is still unknown. ALSO READ: LG G6 to boast 5.7-inch QHD+ display with 18:9 ratio

Details about the camera specs of the G6 are scarce at the moment. However, there are some rumors which suggest that it might come with the iPhone 7 Plus-like dual-camera module with flash for more depth-of-field that creates bokeh effect in images. The smartphone is also said to feature a removable battery, and come with Quick Charge 4.0 that is claimed to provide power for five hours with just five minutes of charging. Furthermore, the smartphone could come with support for wireless charging. For connectivity, the LG G6 smartphone could offer support for USB Type-C. LG will also retain the 3.5mm headphone jack which will be placed on the top right. The LG G6 is also said to be water-resistant and come with a metal and glass body. The pricing department for the LG G6 is still not clear and is rather confusing. An earlier report by The Investor, suggested that the LG G6 will be priced about 20 percent lower than the G5. However, on the contrary, another WSJ report suggested that LG is expected to price the G6 around the same as the G5, which shuffles around $500 (approximately Rs 34,000) to $600 (approximately Rs 40,000).
