Huawei to Out a Tango Enabled Smartphone Shortly

There were some weird products, too, but this is CES after all and all kinds of consumer electronics make their way to the show every year, so there is always bound to be some products that are more out there than others. Currently, Lenovo is the only company to have commercialized the technology through its $500-priced Phab 2 Pro with Asus being the second company to announce a Tango-enabled Zenfone AR. If the latest rumours are to be believed, Huawei is working on a smartphone which will be based on Google's Project Tango. The unit is the first smartphone to feature Google Tango and Google Daydream Virtual Reaity.

Another big reveal was ASUS' ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom, two new smartphones but both wildly different in terms of their feature focus. It has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. The smartphone also uses fast charging technology for its 33mAh battery to support the Qualcomm Quick Charging 3.0. As for its storage capacity, the unit will be able to store 32 GB up to 256 GB.

According to reports, the Zenfone AR will be equipped with a 23-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, which is also capable of filming 4K video. For AR to work, you need depth sensing and motion tracking cameras on top of your usual lens.

Despite the fact that Augmented Reality on smartphones is yet to go mainstream, smartphone vendors are having no second thoughts on manufacturing phones with AR capabilities.

However, the company kept mum about the specifications, pricing, or the launch date.

That said, it remains to be seen if the phone will come with high-end specs like the recently launched Asus ZenFone AR or will it come with mediocre specs.
