This was confirmed by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. While he indirectly confirmed the device, the twitter poll that he posted whether the next OnePlus edition will have a headphone jack or not says it all. Apparently, plans to discontinue the headphone jack is being considered, but Pei is playing safe by getting the pulse of its consumers.

OnePlus joins the other tech companies in making their handsets even thinner by removing the headphone jack. Nevertheless, it takes research and consumer input to totally feature it as part of the model.

Currently, all OnePlus devices still have the 3.5mm headphone jacks. But with OnePlus 4 expected to arrive next year, it's possible that the survey is to help them decide whether to put one or not.

If OnePlus has a way to launching things earlier, they can get an advance date that will likely compete against Samsung. If there's one thing, that will likely turn off the rumor of an upcoming OnePlus 4, is the alleged development of the all new OnePlus 3S and OnePlus 3 Plus.

Things are too early to predict, but OnePlus' main reason for the tease is to possibly get the next idea on their upcoming models. OnePlus 4, if it arrives joins the already massive collection for the flagship killer.
