Samsung Entirely Recalls Latest Model Because The Phones Keep Exploding
A phone is such a ubiquitous gadget in modern times as to make life feel impossible without one. I've seen people begging for change on the street with a better model of phone than I have. It's weird how our priorities are so skewed in that way: 4G and unlimited texts have gone from creature comforts to basic necessities. After all, we're not living in the stone ages.
We're even used to seeing people queueing outside stores overnight for the release of a new iPhone or iPad or other Apple product. The mobile phone industry is a billion dollar market, one that has turned the humble tech nerds' offices of Silicon Valley into a global economic power in its own right.
In our lifetime, within the realm of smartphones, we're experiencing unprecedented digital and technological innovation and singularity, a leap forward matched only by the industrial revolution of the 19th century, where we can perform miracles with a computer the size of a sandwich.
So it can be particularly galling as a consumer to spend hundreds of dollars on a new piece of aspirational tech, only to discover that not only does it not work properly, but that it's actually as dangerous to carry about in your back pocket as a live hand-grenade. But that's exactly why the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been recalled, after its release was explosive in all the wrong ways. Check out page two for more info on the Semtex Samsung.
