New Nexus phones may pack a Huawei flagship feature

Two new Nexus handsets are expected to launch later this year and are tipped to pack a feature that has been built into Huawei's recent flagships.

According to an image posted by Android Police, this year's Nexus handsets will have gesture controls built into their fingerprint scanners. This has also featured in Huawei's flagship smartphones, such as the Mate 8 and P9.

The site says that it's "extremely confident" that this is a real feature, but covers itself by stating that it could be removed before launch. It also says that it's unsure if it will arrive on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P or just the new Nexus M1 and Nexus S1, otherwise known as Marlin and Sailfish.

Meanwhile, a "trusted source" told Droid Life that the new phones will launch on October 4.
