Lenovo has silently launched a new smartphone in Russia, called the Vibe A. Believed to be successor to the Lenovo A1000, the Lenovo Vibe A lies on the lower spectrum of the Vibe series. That said, there is currently no word on the pricing or global availability of the smartphone.
Lenovo Vibe A specificationsThe Lenovo Vibe A comes with a 4-inch display with 800×480 pixels resolution. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731. Surprisingly, the smartphone comes with just 512MB of RAM, which suggests it could be an ultra low-cost device from Lenovo. The Lenovo Vibe A also comes with 4GB of internal storage and supports expandable storage via micoSD.
Lenovo Vibe A featuresFor photography, the smartphone comes with 5-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with LED flash and VGA front facing camera. It is powered by a 1,700mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM functionality but no 4G support.
The Lenovo Vibe A is an interesting device considering its specifications aren't very competitive for a 2016 entry-level smartphone. Unless Lenovo launches it at an ultra low-price, I really don't think the smartphone will excite users, at least in India. Perhaps, the smartphone will never make it to a competitive market like India.
On the other hand, Reliance is currently offering smartphones with better specifications and 4G VoLTE support for as low as Rs 2,999. Also, these smartphones are bundled with unlimited access to Jio apps like JioBeats, JioPlay and JioDrive among others.
