Microsoft Surface Phone is packing all brand new features. Here you can check out Microsoft's plans for the upcoming Surface Phone as well as the release date, price.
According to International Business Times, Microsoft Surface branded phone will not be released before 2017. Microsoft is having a tough time in the market due to poor sales generated by Windows Phone 7. It will cancel its Lumia phones too. So, Microsoft will give a lot of importance to the upcoming Surface Phone, which is believed to be the biggest hope for the brand. It's also reported that Microsoft will launch the Surface Phone in three variants. Among them, one will be very expensive with the price tag of $1099 (approx. AU$1494).
"We're fully committed to that 4-inch screen, there will be a time for it to be our focus, but right now it's part of the family but it's not the core of where I hope to generate developer interest over the next year. There's no lack of recognition to realize how important that form factor is, but for Microsoft with Windows and for our platform it's the wrong place for us to lead," Windows chief Terry Myerson told The Verge.
According to The News Independent, the Surface Phone will be a powerful device. It will have some features, which are seen only on computers. It will pack 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage space. The advanced version of the phone will carry 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, whereas the Pro Variant will sport 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space. You will find a 21-megapixel PureView Zeiss 6-lens rear camera and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens front camera. The phone will sport an aluminum and magnesium body with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with QHD resolution. The price tag of this versatile phone may fall between $700 and $1200.
