BlackBerry recently released the Android Marshmallow update for their BlackBerry Priv smartphone, although the company is still also releasing beta updates of the software to testers. As with all leaks, a lot can change between now and the release of the actual device.
The smartphone runs Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 operating system.
Other specs include 2.8 GB of RAM (we expect that to be advertised as 3 GB of RAM), 10 GB of onboard storage (again this seems like another unusual number from GFXBench), a 12-megapixel rear snapper and a 7-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
We can't be sure if this benchmark is just a rumor or real, but it fits in perfectly with what people think would be BlackBerry's next step - to bring out mid-range phones and stay away from high-end devices. It also lists the smartphone's hardware details including running on Android Marshmallow platform. With 3GB of RAM, it probably won't suffer the performance issues common with the Nexus 5X, which only has access to 2GB of RAM, though it doesn't feature one of the more powerful 600 series Snapdragon processors, instead opting for the more modest 615.
Keeping its enterprise customers in mind, BlackBerry this is expected to keep the price of its upcoming handsets in US$400 (AU$554) range. If you guys remember, the "Hamburg" will be a touchscreen device with no physical QWERTY keyboard.
On his initial trip to India, John Chen, the CEO of BlackBerry had squashed all reports regarding its departure from the hardware space and said that it will launch a smartphone between Rs 20,000 - Rs 26,000 in the country soon.
Chen had admitted that the Priv, the company's current-generation flagship phone was expensive and the lack of more devices backing it up was the reason why it did not do well.
The Canadian company is yet to confirm the names and release that of the devices.
Chances exist for the benchmark to be fake. The handset that labels STH100-x model, code named "Hamburg", is leaked. Moreover, we're still left with no information regarding the actual price of the Hamburg when it does debut later this year.
