Samsung's long-rumored foldable smartphone will be launched in 2017, according to Korean technology site ETNews.
According to the report, the foldable smartphone is a new-concept product, which can be a five-inch smartphone and also be expanded to a seven-inch tablet if opened.
Samsung has reportedly acquired many technologies that are required to be used in developing a foldable smartphone. The company is said to have been working on a foldable smartphone for the last three years and even has a patent for it.

Samsung reportedly plans to mass-produce the foldable display smartphone by the end of this year and sell it in markets starting from 2017.
The technology manufacturer has been struggling with sluggish demand for its smartphones in recent quarters. The foldable smartphone is expected to create a new innovation in the smartphone segment and boost Samsung's mobile phone sales.
Samsung is well-known for its innovation in the smartphone segment. The company basically introduced the phablet segment with the Galaxy Note and brought curved displays in the market through the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge.
