Microsoft is yet to make any official announcement about Surface Phone, but the rumor mill about this smartphone is rolling at full speed.
It is a known fact that the mobile business of the Redmond-based firm is not faring well and the company is laying low for the time being until they develop something which can really take the market by storm. But it would not be wrong to say that it's time for Microsoft to come up with something new, other than Lumia.
The latest Surface Phone rumors are debating whether Microsoft will take a stylus/pen approach with the new flagship and whether the company is going to continue down the smartphone path. Several recent reports claim that the Surface Phone will be released in Spring 2017, if the device indeed gets launched.
It is learned that the engineers at Microsoft are busy testing theories for a new Surface Phone and it is expected that the tech giant would definitely give it a try. Since Lumia has failed to do good business, Microsoft has preferred not to really invest in marketing and advertising. Nonetheless, the company may give it one final try and go all in with their next launch.
It is highly unlikely that Microsoft would release any Windows 10 Mobile device this year. Some sources said that the Surface team is taking their time to perfect the hardware while the software team is continuously working on improving Windows 10 Mobile.
Some rumors suggest that the Surface Phone is expected to emerge as a competitor for Samsung Galaxy Note. The handset is expected to be a premium device with a large display and its own Pen.
