Xiaomi Launches New Redmi Note 3

Both offer a wide range of powerful yet affordable smartphones around the globe.

Talking about the new Redmi Note 3 running Snapdragon 650, Xiaomi is claiming it to be the first smartphone in the country to get that chipset.

International Business Times compared the specifications of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with those of the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus.

The smartphone features an all-metal body and also packs a fingerprint scanner at the back.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 ships with MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop operating system. The device comes with a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port and NFC. Lenovo's latest flagship comes with a smaller battery with 2750 mAh capacity.

"We are extremely excited to be launching Redmi Note 3 in India, which is the start of many firsts for us in 2016 and more than meets the demands of our hardcore Mi fans".

Xiaomi's India head Manu Kumar Jain also has revealed that the number of registrations for the smartphone has crossed 350,000 in just 24 hours.

The lower end variant which has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 9,999 while the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs. 11,999.

Today, at the launch event, Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi Note 3 will be available for purchase in India on March 9. Meanwhile, Lenovo is set to launch its all-new Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus on March 15.

It will be available in three colour variants - Champagne Gold, Dark Grey and Silver. On the other hand, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has a price tag of approximately Rs 10,240.
