Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge smartphone is missing a major new feature

With the arrival of the new Android smartphones, smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 will start losing its appeal but that does not mean that it is out of the game.

With the growing love for emojis as far as messaging apps are concerned, the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow also adds a new set of these characters with full support for both Unicode 7.0 and 8.0. The latest iteration of Android gives your phone the ability to adopt a microSD card and make it behave like internal storage.

Unfortunately, Samsung is not supporting Adoptable Storage with its latest smartphones. The industry follower quoted Samsung's statement on the matter: "With adoptable storage, first of all the card may be erased the first time it is inserted into the device". Of course, the feature is very good, especially if you have a low- or mid-range device with limited storage.

With Adoptable Storage – because the memory on the card is seamlessly merged with the internal storage – this can play havoc with your apps and saved data.

Samsung has issued a statement to multiple sites, including Ars Technica, saying that there's a different reason for leaving out adoptable storage: once a card is adopted, it can not be ready by other devices.

And the South Korean firm's all-new devices tick a number of wish list items, including a water resistant design, always-on display, better camera and, most importantly, expandable storage via microSD card. This lets you format a microSD card so it can be used as if it were internal storage.

But it looks like both LG and Samsung want you to use those microSD cards for media, documents, and other files… but not for apps. You'll just not be able to use Marshmallow's adoptable storage feature.
