Samsung to launch new smartphone to 'change the way users ride'
It's unclear whether or not Samsung will make these smartphones available in other countries, but considering the Galaxy J3 (2106) is already selling in the United States, there's a high chance they will be rolled out globally.
Samsung has listed the 2016 versions of its Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones on its website in China.
There is a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. Internal storage is limited to 16GB, however, it can be expanded up to 128GB via a MicroSD card. While it is good to note that the specs of the S7 will also be ported onto an Active range by Samsung Electronics (OTCMKTS:SSNLF), it is important to note that this will be the first Samsung smartphone in the past couple of years which does not give users a clear enough reason to upgrade.
Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is the lower-end smartphone of the duo, bringing a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 284 ppi, while being underpinned by an unnamed processor with four cores clocked at 1.2 GHz. Both smartphones come with dual SIM support and feature similar designs but with different hardware. All these are kept alive by a pretty big 3,100 mAh battery which should be enough for two days of moderate usage. It's available in sand gold, silver/white and metallic pink and comes equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display as well as a large 3,300mAh battery. The smartphone also integrates 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of native storage, and support for microSD cards up to 128 GB. It comes with a 5-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash and autofocus, along with a 2-megapixel camera on the front. Measuring 151.7 x 76 x 7.8mm and weighing in at 170g, the Galaxy J7 (2016) offers LTE connectivity as well as NFC capabilities.< /p>
As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability outside China.
