Many theories sprung up as to why that could be the case, especially with Verizon being a partner of Google's Android Pay, which is in direct competition with services like Samsung Pay and Apple Pay. Similarly, the S7 Edge also have the same display but has a larger display screen of 5.5-inch that features unique dual-curved Edge.

SAMSUNG HAS ANNOUNCED "record" pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, boasting that sales so far have been 2.5 times higher than those seen for its previous smartphone releases.

Amid the slowing global smartphone market coupled with the soaring demand for budget handsets locally and globally, the new Galaxy smartphones are expected to play a decisive role in revitalizing sales.

No numbers have been given by Samsung yet, so we still don't know exactly how many Galaxy S7/S7 edge units have been sold until now. Recent tests have shown that the new Snapdragon 820 CPU barely outperforms the A9.

Samsung is likely hoping the S7 and S7 Edge will have a better reception than their predecessors. Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge customers with any carrier who preorder one of the devices or buy one before March 18 will be eligible to receive a free Gear VR virtual-reality headset and 6 VR games, a total value of about $150, while supplies last.

However, according to the predictions of a few market analysts, the sales of the Galaxy S7 will be weaker than that of the Galaxy S6, reports Reuters.
