Samsung Galaxy S7 vs. Apple's iPhone 7: Upcoming flagship smartphones specs, features, release date rumors

New York: The rumors surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone dominated the Web this week. Here we are comparing the rumored specs, features and release date of Galaxy S7 with arch rival Apple's much-anticipated and talked about iPhone 7, expected to be released this year as well.

It is expected that Samsung will release the Galaxy S7, the company's next-generation flagship phone, on February 21. The iPhone 7 isn't due until later this year, probably in the fall.

Galaxy S7:

Battery: Samsung is likely to use a a large battery on the S7 Edge, according to 9to5Google. It is notable that the current-generation Galaxy S6 has been criticized for its weak battery.

Design: If leaked images are true then it would not be wrong to say that some cosmetic changes will be visible in the design, including the curved back found on the Galaxy Note 5. Improved dust and water resistance is also possible.

Other: cases that feature, for example, a battery and a wireless charging kit. A keyboard cover is possible as well, likely similar to the Galaxy Note 5.

Typical upgrades: The cameras of Samsung smartphones are without doubt amazing and it is certain that the company would improve the camera quality in the Galaxy S7. Some other excepted upgrades include a new Samsung Exynos octa-core (8 core) processor, with some versions of the phone using a Qualcomm chip.

iPhone 7

Camera: Rumors are strong that the new phone would sport an innovative new camera, most probably with a dual-lens. Apple may use the technology from LinX Imaging, a company it acquired last year. LinX claims its dual-camera technology can boost image quality to match standalone digital cameras.

Typical upgrades: It is a known fact that Apple keeps on upgrading the processor for every new version of the iPhone. The company is not going to make much changes in battery life.
