South Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics and LG unveiled Sunday new smartphones with better cameras and turned to virtual reality to boost interest in their headsets at a time of slowing sales.
The new Game Launcher looks pretty useful too: it's full of tools to make mobile gaming better, such as changing the framerate, disabling notifications, and recording videos of your games. The new Galaxy S7 and S7 edge feature improved cameras, refined design, advanced security, enhanced performance, and the return of expandable storage.
We have been waiting for this day to arrive where Samsung reveals their flagship for the year, the Samsung Galaxy S7.
Talking about the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge's fundamentals, the device comes with a 5.1-inch display, with the edge sporting a 5.5-inch screen. But it seems like Samsung has catered most of the upgrades to the Instagram fanatics of the world. Though they share much of the same hardware (including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM), the S7 Edge is now a larger phone - with a 5.5-inch display compared to the 5.1 inch S7.
LG's version still uses the smartphone to process the images, but instead of displaying them on the phone screen, images get sent to separate, lighter displays in the headset's eyepieces.
The S7 will come in black or gold, while the S7 Edge will come in black, gold, or silver options. Samsung also announced a magnetic extendable camera lens add-on and wireless charging battery expansion cases for both the phones. Both S7 and S7 edge, in addition, are dust- and water-resistant (and again, that's dust- and water-resistant, not dustproof waterproof) with IP68 certification.
The Mobile World Congress 2016 was a great platform for Samsung to show of expertise in terms of mobile technology.
During the showcase event, Samsung also introduced the Gear 360, the company's first camera made exclusively for virtual reality (VR) content, in line with its bid to take the lead in creating the segment's ecosystem. Plus, you can increase the phone's 32GB memory with a MicroSD card, which means more apps, more photos, and more video storage.
Not to be outdone, Sprint says it will offer customers the ability to buy or lease one of the new phones and get a second device for half the price.
Obama's Supreme Court AppointmentBut if the Democrats won they might, which would prevent the next president from nominating Obama. The 79-year-old jurist was appointed to the court in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan.
