Sq. Enix declares Ultimate Fantasy IX for PC and smartphones
Square Enix is planning to release "Final Fantasy IX" to the smartphone and PC this year, Kotaku reports.
"Final Fantasy IX" is set to invade multiple gadgets, including the personal computer and mobile phones. No exact date has been given for its PC release. The game, which was technically announced back during 2006 under the name Final Fantasy Versus XIII, has been one of the most anticipated titles in recent memory, building on a franchise that revolutionized its genre and has been the front-runner of RPGs ever since. This made a lot of gamers happy and we're pretty sure that the developer will give us more details about this game in the upcoming days. Final Fantasy IX's bow, by comparison, seemed quieter - but the PSone classic remains beloved by series fans.
Aside from the high definition graphics, "Final Fantasy IX" is also expected to have additional achievements, high speed features, auto-save feature, and many other features that are set to enhance the players' gaming experience.
In a new blog post, FF XV's director Hajime Tabata makes it sound as though the game could have been released previous year, but that it definitely needed some more polishing. Unfortunately, it probably didn't receive as much attention as it deserved because it launched at the very end of the PSOne lifecycle and a year after the PlayStation 2 was released.
There is still no announcement when it will come out though, and its initial release would only be for Japan.
It is also notable that the game will be making its way to smart phones and tablets.
The company has also cautioned that "Final Fantasy IX" may not work on all Android devices.
