Panasonic Eluga Mark smartphone with fingerprint scanner launched for Rs 11990

Taking into consideration the security needs of smartphone users, Panasonic India today announced the release of its security-oriented smartphone, the Eluga Mark. The Eluga Mark comes with the FitHome user interface by Panasonic, which enables single thumb-flick access to applications on the home screen. So you can save multiple impressions from your hand and unlock your device that way.

As mentioned earlier, the Eluga Mark comes with fingerprint scanner, which is placed below the camera lens on the rear, akin to the likes of Honor 7 and Gionee Elife E8. It supports Android-for-Work with which the device is secure to use for professional purposes.

Smartphone users increasingly storing and accessing sensitive business and personal data on their devices.

Panasonic has mentioned that it launched 16 devices thus far in the country in 2015, and that it intends to launch a few more before the end of the year.

"In 2016 we would be focusing on "Make in India" and 4G enabled devices by targeting global markets and regions", added Rana.

On the Camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and it has a secondary a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on board. It offers 16GB of internal storage and can hold microSD cards of up to 32GB.

It features a 5.5 inch IPS HD display with 1280*720 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm snapdragon 615. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). The smartphone is fueled by a 2500mAh battery.

The handset features standard sensors that include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, e-compass, and proximity sensors.

It will be available in Royal Gold and Metallic Grey colors and costs only Rs. 11,990.
