Google Chrome experiment turns your smartphone into a lightsaber
Lightsaber Escape is a browser-based game where you must fight off The First Order and make your escape.
All you need to do is log onto the website and enter the unique URL provided into your smartphone's browser. So basically, you will use your smartphone to control the lightsaber that is displayed on screen to deflect the light beams shot by the Stormtroopers.
Star Wars fans can now literally use the Force to stop spoilers from ruining the much-anticipated intergalactic installment.
Instead, one has to swing and wag their phone frantically to kill all the coming stormtroopers.
"The Force Awakens" set to hit French cinemas this Wednesday, December 16 (two days before the US), there's no shortage of websites flying the flag for the famous saga. After a short calibration process, you'll be deflecting blaster fire in no time. Have you purchased your Star Wars tickets yet?
Meanwhile, Lightsaber Escape is just another Google addition to celebrate the "Star Wars" comeback as noted by Forbes.
This is a collaboration between Google's developers, Lucasfilm, and visual effects company Industrial Light and Magic. Calibrating the phone only takes a second, followed shortly by some training.
It's always the dream of every Star Wars fan (and probably future fans who will be watching their first one with The Force Awakens) to own and wield their very own lightsaber.
Now, users may use a new Facebook profile photo filter that would enable them to appear like they were holding a lightsaber.
There's been reports of it not working too well on some Android and Windows phones, but it's worth giving a go, especially since you don't get too many opportunities to be a Jedi. Users can also invite others to try the game.
